The newest animated Star Wars series set to wow fans is the much-hyped Star Wars: The Bad Batch. An animated continuation of the highly successful Star Wars: The Clone Wars, this series follows the exploits of a ragtag bunch of renegade Clone Troopers known as Clone Force 99 after the Clone Wars have ended. The series is set to premiere on May 4th, otherwise known as Star Wars Day. What makes these Clone Troopers so special compared to your average clone is that Clone Force 99 consists of five “defective” clones who, because of their genetic “deformities,” each have their own strange ability. Whether it’s enhanced strength or mental capacity, a superior aim or enhanced senses, each member of Clone Force 99 brings something exciting to the table, and if their appearance on The Clone Wars says anything, it’s that we’re in for an entertaining show. The official trailer for the series can be viewed below:

The Clone Wars originally aired its first five seasons on Cartoon Network beginning in 2008, with a sixth season of Lost Missions airing on Netflix in 2014. The series ended last year with its final season, crossing over with Star Wars: Episode III – Revenge of the Sith, airing on Disney+. Star Wars: The Clone Wars has been beloved by Star Wars fans for years and introduced fan-favorite characters such as Ahsoka Tano, Captain Rex, Savage Opress, and Bo-Katan Kryze. The Bad Batch will be helmed by Clone Wars showrunner David Filoni (The Mandalorian) and is set to feature various characters from around the Star Wars universe. The trailer reveals the return of Saw Gerrera (Rogue One), Fennec Shand (The Mandalorian), and even Grand Admiral Tarkin (Episode IV – A New Hope), and many fans are hoping for cameos from other fan-favorites such as Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader himself. Star Wars: The Bad Batch will premiere on May 4th on the hit-streaming service Disney+.
