It’s official: Ferrari is joining the electric supercar market. The famous Italian manufacturer announced it is working on its first fully electric-powered Ferrari supercar at an AGM shareholder meeting earlier this week.  This comes as somewhat as a surprise to many, as just six months ago former CEO Louis Camilleri said the company would never go fully electric. It seems the luxury vehicle company has seen the light and decided to invest in EVs. While CEO John Elkann was happy to announce the news of Ferrari’s latest venture, he didn’t reveal many details, besides explaining it’ll be “everything you dream the engineers and designers at Maranello can imagine for such a landmark in our history.” yousang/Shutterstock Following on from the hybrid LaFerrari and SF90 Stradale, this new Ferrari will be 100% electric and is set to top them all. “Our interpretation of these [EV] technologies both in motorsport and in road cars is a huge opportunity to bring the uniqueness and passion of Ferrari to new generations,” Eljann added. This news shouldn’t worry rev heads, with Eljann also confirming three new petrol-fuelled Ferrari’s are arriving in the coming months. He also stated Ferrari’s answer to the smooth Lamborghini Urus SUV, the Purosangue, is on track to hit roads next year.  Until we receive more news on the car, check out the 10 best Ferraris of all time to get hyped.
