After a long three-year wait, and three different postponements, A Quiet Place, Part II is almost upon us. Paramount Pictures recently dropped the final trailer before the film hits theaters at the end of May, and it looks to be just as intense a pulse-pounding thriller as the first film.
While the first film was a knockout critical and box-office success, there is little doubt that the sequel will follow suit, especially given people’s desire to return to the theaters. A Quiet Place, Part II is set to air on the streaming service Paramount+ after first sending over a month in the theaters to give audiences a more “proper” viewing experience.
Krasinski explained in a featurette, also recently released by Paramount, that, “It’s very exciting to be able to come back to the theaters and see A Quiet Place: II because it was always designed for a theatrical experience. It’s a horror movie, you want to watch it in the dark,” Blunt later added, explaining that the theatrical experience will make moviegoers “jump and leap and gasp together.”
The latest Quiet Place film features the return of Emily Blunt as matriarch Evelyn Abbot, along with Millicent Simmonds as her deaf daughter Reagan and Noah Jupe as son Marcus. Krasinski is also set to return as Lee Abbot through flashbacks before the alien apocalypse, and actors Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou are set to star in new roles.
A Quiet Place, Part II is set to arrive in theaters on May 28th.
