Another day, another Marvel trailer. This time it’s Loki’s turn to star in his own series. The cleverly named Loki follows the adventures of the God of Mischief as he travels through time repairing the damage he’s caused with the Tesseract.
The series picks up right after Loki is captured by the Time Variance Authority after absconding with the Tesseract during Avengers: Endgame. Tom Hiddlestone reprises his role as Loki, who it turns out has changed reality thanks to his use of the Tesseract. Given a shot at redemption by TVA’s Mobius M. Mobius (a grey-haired Owen Wilson), Loki takes on the challenge of fixing the mistakes he’s caused by time traveling while seemingly having his own motives for helping. This show is sure to please Marvel fanboys and those who have enjoyed Loki’s appearances throughout the Marvel universe. It seems to be a mix of comedy and drama, with Hiddlestone in fine form as the prankster. There are also rumors the show could feature a came from Black Widow, which is a crossover I’m happy to see. Along with Hiddlestone and Wilson, the extended cast includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Richard E. Grant, Sophia Di Martino, Sasha Lane, Wunmi Mosaku, and Erika Coleman. Loki is set to premiere on Disney+ on June 11.
