Fashion giants Louis Vuitton are now in the hospitality game. The high-end brand has traded garments for cocktails with the opening of Le Café V and Sugalabo V.

Located in Osaka, Japan, both the cafe and restaurant will feature dishes from acclaimed chef Yosuke Suga, a former protege of 32-Michelin star chef Joël Robuchon.

Le Café V can be found on the top floor (fourth floor) of the Louis Vuitton store. It opens to an outdoor terrace where thirsty shoppers can knock back a few cocktails or grab a snack.

The restaurant, Sugalabo V, only opens in the evening for dinner and is an offshoot of Suga’s famous Tokyo restaurant. Hidden behind speakeasy doors, the high-class eatery features an open kitchen and dining area designed by Jun Aoki. The restaurant is meant to resemble a ship on the ocean, with the interior highlighting warm woods and sleek gadgets in the LV mould.

Tokujin Yoshioka, an LV employee who works in the furniture and travel-inspired accessories collection department, has been tasked with creating the table settings and other related dining pieces. His nature-inspired modern designs fit well with Aoki’s water-based ideas.

Both Le Café V and Sugalabo V open today. While it’s easy to grab a drink at Le Café V, you’ll need to book in advance for a chance to eat at Sugalabo V, with only a few dinners accepted each night.
