After recently being announced as a cast member in the next Indiana Jones installment to be directed by James Mangold (Logan), the trailer for star Mads Mikkelsen’s most recent action-thriller, Riders of Justice, has been released. Danish filmmaker Anders Thomas Jensen helms the film. His short film Election Night won the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film back in 1998, and more recently he co-wrote the screenplay for the live-action adaptation of Stephen King’s The Dark Tower, his first work on an American feature film. Riders of Justice “follows recently-deployed Markus (Mads Mikkelsen), who is forced to return home to care for his teenage daughter after his wife is killed in a tragic train accident. But when a survivor of the wrecked train surfaces claiming foul play, Markus begins to suspect his wife was murdered and embarks on a mission to find those responsible.” The trailer can be viewed below:

This movie looks insane and appears to be an interesting mix between an action film and a black comedy. The film is also off to a good start already, with positive reviews from both audiences and critics. Between Mads Mikkelsen going ham on some biker gang baddies to the clever directing and stark cinematography itself, Riders of Justice looks like it’s going to be a treat for all fans of the “revenge action-thriller” genre. Mads Mikkelsen, whose Danish himself, is known for his roles as the villain Le Chiffre in the James Bond film Casino Royale, the iconic cannibal Dr. Hannibal Lector in the series Hannibal, the warlock Kaecillius in Marvel’s Doctor Strange, and Death Star technician Galen Erso in the Star Wars spin-off Rogue One. He even received the Cannes Film Festival Award for Best Actor for his role as Lucas in the Danish film The Hunt, proving he has the acting chops to be a leading man. Riders of Justice is set for a theatrical release on May 14th and will be available on-demand on May 21st.
