Porsche’s has revealed its latest version of the 2020 Taycan, one powered by electricity. The fully-electric Taycan is being marketed as an entry-level sports car for those concerned with the environment. Not only is the Taycan powered by electricity, but at $79,000, it’s almost $25K cheaper than the standard Taycan 4S base model.

The rear-wheel drive EV is 200 pounds lighter than its predecessors and comes with a single-deck Performance Battery with a capacity of 79.2 kWh. Located at the rear of the vehicle, there’s also the option of a 93.4 kWh two-deck Performance Battery Plus upgrade for those who want a little something extra under the hood.

Conjuring 402 horsepower (469 horsepower with the Performance Battery Plus upgrade) and 254 pound-feet of instant torque, the Taycan packs a punch. The modern Porsche can also reach 0-60 mph in just 5.1 seconds and possess a top speed of 143 mph.

The Taycan has a range of 268 miles (300 with the upgrade) and comes with a load of great features. LED headlights, the Porsche Active Suspension Management system, black anodized brake calipers, and 19-inch Aero wheels are all standout features.

The interior is similar to the rest of the Taycan models, with “partial leather” interior front seats, an instrument cluster, and 10.9 inch infotainment screen. The in-car digital display screen can also be hooked up to CarPlay and Apple Music.

The electric Taycan will be available later this year. Find out more about Porsche’s entry-level electric sports car here.
