Porsche are looking to make their mark on the electric vehicle market with the announcement of the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo. Coming less than a year after the launch of Porsche’s hugely popular Taycan, the Turismo offers a number of new features and improvements.
The Turismo is a four-door wagon (as opposed to the original sedan) that has a taller roof with a set of rails. The increased height gives passengers more room and makes it much easier to get in and out of the sporty wagon. There’s that much room in the back you can fit a mountain bike.
“With the Taycan Cross Turismo, we wanted to offer a little bit more space, a little more flexibility and versatility,” said Stefan Weckbach, the head of the Taycan line.
“We developed a completely new roofline, fitted with roof rails, a more generous second row, and bigger trunk, all to make a car that is perfect for an active lifestyle. A car that is perfect for both an urban environment and the countryside.”
Revamped suspension and driving modes are also part of the new design, with Weckbach explaining how the narrow body shape will help with off-road adventuring.
No specs or performance details about the Turismo have been released, but many assume it will be similar to the Taycan.
Although there is no price or official release date, the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo is set to be released in the coming months.
