The massively popular Netflix series Formula 1: Drive to Survive is back in 2021. Focusing on the pandemic affected 2020 season, the series explores what life is like for teams in pit lane. The first teaser trailer for the anticipated third season just dropped and you can watch it below.
The 10 episode series kicks off ahead of the season opener in Bahrain. The acclaimed Netflix vehicle will delve into all the major talking points of the 2020 season, including the start of the season being aborted due to Covid, surprise victories from the likes of Sergio Perez and Pierre Gasly, and Lewis Hamilton’s incredible year that saw him equal Michael Schumacher’s record of seven World Driver’s Championship titles.
“Fans will be given unprecedented behind-the-scenes access to the 2020 season which saw the sport dramatically halted in Australia due to the COVID-19 pandemic and make a thrilling restart in Austria later that year,” reads Formula 1’s statement about the series.
The statement went on to say this is “the most dramatic season to date” and said “fans will once again be taken behind the scenes, to witness first-hand how the drivers and teams battle it out for victory in a year like no other.”
The production team behind fantastic documentary films Senna and Diego Maradonna are once again in charge, with their cameras capturing the behind-the-scenes drama of the 2020 season.
F1: Drive to Survive season three will hit Netflix on March 19.
