Emerging Japanese Whisky producer Tenjaku has announced the launch of Tenjaku Pure Malt to the US Market, following on from the successful release of the company’s lead in Tenjaku Whisky this year.

The blend of 100% aged malt whiskies goes through double copper pot distillation and is then blended to perfection by Tenjaku Master Distiller Kenji Watanabe.   Once the distillation and blending processes are complete, the whisky is then aged in heavily used bourbon barrels for up to six years to allow the flavors to mature.    “MHW is proud to be serving as the importer for Tenjaku and participating in such a successful brand launch in 2020,” said MHW President & Founder John Beaudette, who will import Tenjaku Pure Malt.  “The launch of Pure Malt is another step for Tenjaku in its mission to share smooth, premium Japanese whisky with whiskey lovers all over the US.”  Tasting Notes  Color:  Rich amber  Nose:  Nutty, with hints of green apple and fresh herbs. Richly rounded with only a slight smokiness.   Palate:  A crisp alcoholic presence, solid, yet delicate and smooth in the mouth.       Finish:  Refreshing and clear aftertaste with a long finish. Vanilla notes give way to understated woody flavors that linger in the mouth.

The key to Tenjaku Whisky is the environment in which it is created, especially the water used during the distillation process.   Tenjaku is created in the city of Fuefuki, located in the eastern part of the Kofu Basin, looking towards Mt. Fuji and the Southern Alps. It is a place blessed with verdant forests, beautiful orchards, hot springs, and crystal clear streams.  Water is drawn from 250 meters underground for use in creating Tenjaku. Filtered through porous volcanic rock, it is perfect for dilution when creating blended whiskies.  The moderate mineral content present in the water creates a whisky that is smooth and easy-to-drink and a well-balanced flavor.  The launch of Tenjaku Pure Malt follows on the heels of a successful first year in the United States for Tenjaku Whisky, capitalizing on the continued demand for quality Japanese Whisky expressions.
