Arguably the most famous man in showbiz, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is back with another project sure to please fans. But this isn’t another action blockbuster like San Andreas or Rampage. Instead, Rocky has announced a new television series based upon his wild upbringing.

Rock took to Instagram to announce his new show, dropping the trailer a day after the one year anniversary of his father’s death.”I really wish my dad was around to see this one. Maaaaan he would’ve been proud,” Rock wrote in his Insta post.

Young Rock is the story of how Johnson became one of the most recognizable men on the planet. Set during the early 90s, the show will focus on what Rock’s life was like as part of one of the most famous wrestling families in history. Both his father (Rocky Johnson) and grandfather (High Chief Peter Maivia) are WWE Hall of Famers.

The show will also delve into Rock’s high school years and his time at the University of Miami where a career in football seemed likely before wrestling became his number one priority.

Three different actors have been cast to play the former WWE wrestler. Adrian Groulx is playing a 10-year-old Johnson, Bradley Constant plays high school Johnson, and Uli Latukefu as college Johnson. The Fast & Furious actor won’t be starring in the show himself but is serving as an executive producer.

Young Rock will debut on February 16 on NBC. Check out the full trailer below.
