The award-winning animated anthology series (try saying that three times fast) Love, Death & Robots is headed back to Netflix next month for its second season. The science-fiction series was adored during its first volume and was immediately renewed for more episodes back in 2019 when it premiered. With less than a month to go before its release date, Netflix has dropped the trailer for Love, Death & Robots Volume 2, which looks to be just as deliciously unique as the first. The trailer can be viewed below:

If the trailer’s promise of naked giants, Christmas demons, and robots-gone-wild is any indication of how Volume 2 is going to go, it looks like we’re in for a treat, with unique short stories that will make us shiver at the thought of some of these plots. Between that and the use of score music from the horror film Hereditary in the trailer, it leaves us wondering just how horror-influenced this season might be (I mean, Christmas demons? That’s gotta mean some spooky stuff). The first season included farmers in mech-suits defending their land from invading DeeBees, U.S. Marine werewolves, a magic antique refrigerator, Red Army demon hunters, and so much more that kept us guessing “what could they do next?” We’ll soon have our answer. The official description for Volume 2 reads: “From wild adventures on far-flung planets to unsettling encounters close to home: The Emmy-winning anthology returns with a crop of provocative tales.”  The official YouTube description also promises the involvement of filmmakers such as Tim Miller (Deadpool), David Fincher (Gone Girl), Jennifer Miller (Halo: The Commissioning), and Joshua Donen (Mindhunter) to name a few. Volume 2 is set to consist of eight episodes, and the series has already been renewed for a third season set to be released in 2022. Love, Death & Robots – Volume 2 premieres on Netflix on May 14th, 2021.
