Get ready for the ultimate movie monster showdown. Godzilla vs. Kong pits the big lizard against the giant ape in an epic battle for supremacy. If the trailer is anything to go by, this one is a popcorn movie of the highest quality.
The official synopsis for this action blockbuster reads:
In short, when Godzilla returns and starts tearing shit up, humanity must turn to Kong for survival. Of course, it’s not all bash and crash, with the flick exploring the relationship between Kong and island girl Jia. The trailer also hints at other creatures from the Godzilla world making an appearance in the film.
Despite being someone who wasn’t a huge fan of the previous Hollywood Godzilla remakes (or Peter Jackson’s King Kong for that matter), I’m actually looking forward to this movie. The chance to watch two legendary creatures like Godzilla and Kong fight on the big screen is too tempting to resist.
The cast is also top notch, with Alexander Skarsgård, Millie Bobby Brown, Rebecca Hall, Brian Tyree Henry, Shun Oguri, Eiza González, Julian Dennison, Kyle Chandler, and Demián Bichir all playing vital roles.
While director Adam Wingard has been hit or miss of late (The Guest – incredible, Blair With – not so incredible) if the trailer is any indication of what to expect, then it looks like Wingard knows what he’s doing.
