The latest hip-hop legend to put pen to paper is Wu-Tang Clan wordsmith Raekwon. Following on from the announcement of Questlove’s latest book, it seems The Chef has been cooking up his own memoir, entitled From Staircase to Stage: The Story of Raekwon and the Wu-Tang Clan.

The 320 page autobiography from the rapper will cover his entire career, from his upbringing in Park Hill to his meteoric rise as part of the Wu-Tang Clan to his success as a solo artist. Raekwon has teamed with Anthony Bozza (Whatever You Say I Am: The Life and Times of Eminem) to tell his story. Read the official statement about the release below:  Now, for the first time, Raekwon tells his full story, from struggling through poverty to make ends meet to turning a hobby into a legacy. The Wu-Tang story is dense, complex, and full of drama, and here nothing is off limits: the group’s underground origins, secrets behind songs like “C.R.E.A.M.” and “Protect Ya Neck,” and what it took to be one of the first hip-hop groups to break into the mainstream. Raekwon also dives deep into the making of his meticulous solo albums—particularly the classic Only Built 4 Cuban Linx—and talks about how spirituality and fatherhood continue to inspire his unstoppable creative process. From Staircase to Stage: The Story of Raekwon and the Wu-Tang Clan is set for release on November 9 from Simon & Schuster.    simonandschuster.com
